Paul Kowalski - Landscape photographer
Paul grew up with a mix of Polish and Australian backgrounds in Canberra, Australia. Whilst photography had been a hobby in his younger years, it was during a three week trip to South Australia in 2002 that something changed for Paul, and photography became a very serious and passionate undertaking.
The basis for Paul's photography to this day has been to use film, and to chase amazing compositions and light in the natural landscape. He has meticulously traveled Australia to be fully immersed in the abundant and amazing natural places on offer, and create photographs of a special moment. Often waiting for hours and re-visiting locations - it's all about creating a photograph 'in camera' for Paul.
Paul's photography centers around removing himself from day to day life, sometimes for months at a time with his family and sometimes to out of the way places closer to home. This escape offers an exposure to nature and a chance to really understand it, feel like part of it and subsequently create from behind the lens. He studies a location, the weather patterns, the optimal time of year, all in an effort to capture a scene at its very best.
Paul's photographs have been sold to customers around the world, with many collectors in America, the UK, South Africa, New Zealand, Asia and of course Australia.
Paul's first Coffee Table book, 'Visions of Australia' has also been sold around the world and to companies such as Telstra, members of Parliament and Dignitaries for use as gifts, and sold through three print runs in two years.
